Does choosing to live in a manner that may result in a great deal of vibrant longevity mean we're opposed to aging?  Of course not.  Anti-aging, as it has come to be called, has garnered some negative connotations.  As though aging were somehow a bad thing.

Perhaps for the many who experience aging as a time of infirmity, weakness, suffering, and loneliness, it is safe to say that aging is a very unpleasant experience.  But for those who find aging to be a process of gaining wisdom, insight, and an increased capacity to experience joy, gratitude, and love, aging is most certainly a highly prized possession and a time to look forward to eagerly.

So aging is just a word.  What we do with it and what it comes to mean to us, is a highly individual choice.

"One remains young as long as one can still learn, can still take on new habits, can bear contradictions."

--Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach
