Dreams
are spectacular gifts from you to you. They are scripted from the
details and feelings and tones of your own life just for the purpose of
carrying meaning to you. It is almost as if someone had written them in
secret code just for you.
Dreams may incorporate
your intellectual and ego self but they are much more comprehensive than
that. So unlike those thoughts and plans that come from your
intellect who must contend with your ego, they are completely
trustworthy.
For this reason, it is
very wise to capture the stories sent to you in dream in some kind of a
record. Over time, the patterns and lessons and permissions and
status reports and healings may become clear to you.

In Greek mythology, Asklepios was the god of healing. He was the son of the Olympian god Apollo and a mortal woman named
Coronis.
As seen in this sculpture, Asklepios was symbolized by the snake. Asklepios' most famous temple was in Epidaurus in northeastern Peloponnese. Another famous "asclepieion" was on the island of Cos, where Hippocrates, the legendary doctor, may have begun his career.

It's interesting to know that the original, ancient Hippocratic oath begins with the invocation "I swear by Apollo the Physician and by Asklepios and by Hygieia (who was Asklepios' daughter) and Panacea and by all the gods . . ."
Starting about 1300 BCE and lasting until almost 500 CE, Asklepian healing centers or temples grew very popular. They combined what today we would call naturopathic treatments such as optimal nutrition, exercise, massage therapy, hydrotherapy, along with astrological readings, music performances, poetry readings, and dream healing. These were truly the first holistic healing centers.
Based on thousand of recorded testimonies, many actually carved in stone, the spa-like environment was designed to remove people from the stresses of daily life and give them time for deep rest and healing. Once restored to balance and wellbeing, the individual was ready to go on a spiritual quest in search of a dream healing. At this point, they were guided to fast, pray to Asklepios, and offer appropriate sacrifices until they were ready to enter into special sleeping chambers. These were usually small cocoon-like chambers in rock where just like a snake climbing into the earth, they would literally return to the womb of the Earth Mother in search of their dream healing. They were watched over my healing practitioners until they had their dream or vision in which they saw Asklepios or one of his helpers come to them and either heal them or tell them how to heal themselves.
